River Folk School Vision and Mission

Hello there, and welcome to River Folk School.

Where the forest meets the field on the banks of a river, my family was planted and our story began to be written. Unplanned and unexpected in the most wonderful way, homeschooling has become a major piece to our story.
With a unique vision for our family's homeschool journey, as it is with all learning endeavors, we felt called to invite fellow homeschoolers to gather and grow in community, fellowship, and learning on our forty acres of countryside.

Once a month, we gather to spend the day feasting on the learning and growing opportunities our little piece of nature offers. Not only is the day a feast of nature exploration and learning for young hearts and minds, but it is also an opportunity for homeschooling mothers to gather and feast on fellowship, encouragement, and collaboration with other women.

The guiding principles and values of River Folk School are not strict to or limited by any one particular methodology or educational philosopher. Although much of our practices align with and are inspired by Charlotte Mason, simply put, a nature based, child-led learning environment is the ultimate mission and vision of our community.
